Experience The Montessori Way

Welcome to the Atlanta Montessori International School (AMIS) website, where you can learn about all facets of our school. The site is updated throughout the year, so be sure to visit often to get the latest information on school news, admission applications, programs, calendars, activities, and newsletters.

Observing Classes

As a parent, you can observe one of our classes to learn what makes a Montessori education so unique. Come by for a visit to see our activity-filled classrooms.
Working on geographic puzzle maps, counting beads, or reading, each child is truly engaged in a fun learning activity. Lunch provides an opportunity to nurture mealtime social skills and good manners, where our children enjoy serving themselves and conversing over their meal. Afterward, quiet time enables the children to read a book or listen to music in a relaxed atmosphere.

About Montessori

Dr. Maria Montessori found that children's best learning takes place through their senses and through their physical activity.

After years of expression in mainly pre-schools, Montessori philosophy is finally being used as originally intended: a method of seeing children as they really are and of creating environments which foster the fulfillment of their highest potential - spiritual, emotional, physical, and intellectual - as members of a family, the world community and the Cosmos.

Admissions

The application deadline for the 2010-2011 school year is February 15, 2010.

There is a $75.00 non-refundable application fee for the first child and $60.00 for each child thereafter, which must be submitted with a completed application form.
