Admissions
Our admissions process serves several important purposes. It allows parents to become better acquainted with our mission and practices. Likewise, it provides the school with the opportunity to learn about your expectations and goals for your child’s education. Additionally it gives families who are new to Montessori an excellent introduction to the philosophy and methods of a Montessori education.
Our Admissions Process
Tour
A tour will give you an opportunity to observe our classrooms, see our facility and have your questions answered about our program. Tours are scheduled by appointment through the Admissions Office.
Application
A completed Registration Form and a non-refundable application fee is required for each student admission after you have toured the school. Applications are accepted throughout the year; however, for optimum consideration, we encourage the submission of admissions forms as soon as the tour is completed to secure your spot.
Transcript/Teacher Recommendation
If applicable, please sign the Authorization for Release of Information Request form. Any past and/or current academic records and test scores are required for admissions consideration. This information is necessary to complete your child’s application.
Student Interview
Upon receipt of your completed application, the Admissions Office will schedule an interview for your family and your child with one of our teachers. Primary students are required to be fully toilet-trained and will be assessed primarily in the areas of academic skills, independence, concentration, language skills, physical development, behavior, and readiness for our program. Elementary students are required to visit the classroom before their start as part of the interview process. The interview familiarizes the child with the school and establishes a mutual understanding of Montessori education between the family and the school.
Admissions Decision
You will be notified of the admissions decision within a week, unless we are awaiting transcripts or other requested documentation. Enrollment contracts are offered on a space-available basis.
