About Our Montessori Young Children's Community Program
You want your child to feel safe, loved, and ready to learn. The first few years build the foundation for everything that comes after, shaping how your little one connects, communicates, moves, explores, and begins to trust the world around them. Research shows that 90% of brain growth happens before kindergarten, which is why these early moments matter so deeply.
At Atlanta Montessori International School, our Young Children's Community gives your child a peaceful, nurturing place to grow during this important stage. Our Montessori-trained Guides respond with warmth, patience, and respect, helping your child feel secure enough to explore with confidence. Through gentle routines, sensory discovery, practical life activities, language-rich interactions, and loving relationships, your little one begins building independence, curiosity, and the early skills that support lifelong learning.
From 6 Weeks to 36 Months: Development Support for Every Stage
Babies and toddlers change so much in such a short time. One month, your baby watches the world around them, and the next, they're reaching, grasping, and exploring. Our program recognizes these developmental leaps and meets your child exactly where they are.
A Nurturing Environment That Feels Like Home
Children ages 6 weeks to 36 months need a place where they feel safe, known, and gently encouraged. At Atlanta Montessori International School, our Young Children's Community feels warm, calm, and deeply intentional, giving your little one the security of loving care with the wonder of early Montessori learning. Each classroom includes carefully chosen Montessori materials that support sensory exploration, movement, language, and independence. As your child grows, they absorb the rhythms, language, kindness, and culture of their environment.
Language & Communication
Your baby or toddler is learning language long before they can say every word clearly. Our guides speak with warmth and purpose throughout the day, naming objects, describing actions, reading stories, singing songs, and responding to your little one's early attempts to communicate. Toddlers begin using words to express needs, emotions, and ideas in a safe, encouraging space. These everyday conversations help build the confidence and communication skills your child will carry into future learning.
Movement & Practical Life
Your little one learns through movement, repetition, and meaningful activity. Your baby is given safe, open spaces to reach, roll, crawl, and strengthen their bodies, while your toddlers climb, balance, carry, pour, wash, arrange, and prepare simple snacks with growing confidence. These practical life activities may look small, but they help your child build coordination, focus, independence, and pride. Every task gives your little one the message, "You are capable."
Social Foundation & Grace
Even in the earliest years, your child is learning how to belong. In our peaceful classroom community, infants begin to recognize familiar faces, while toddlers practice sharing space, waiting, helping, and showing care for others. Gentle grace and courtesy lessons help your little one begin building empathy, patience, and kindness. These first friendships and daily interactions create a strong social foundation for life.
Health & Safety Protocols
Your child's wellbeing is always at the center of our care. Our Campus is protected by monitored security systems and keycard access, while our team adheres to state licensing requirements and maintains careful health and cleanliness practices each day. Every classroom is prepared to be safe, calm, and developmentally appropriate for babies and toddlers. You can feel confident knowing your little one is cared for in an environment designed to protect, nurture, and support them.

Overall a really great experience!!! The admin and teachers are all great and we are exceedingly happy to be here. The one thing I would change is finding a way to streamline communication about upcoming events especially where parent participation is needed. Earlier notice and consistent method of sharing the info I think would help. Currently it seems like we get some info one place and different info elsewhere and then often something gets announced that's only a week or so out.

My daughter loved going to AMIS, Druid hills everyday. Their activities , guides, administration, classroom material everything is good. We also loved special events held at school where parents can also participate with kids, like evening movie in the lawn, Halloween day , breakfast with grandparents and special friends, etc.
